Blackjack Rules

The aim of Blackjack is to obtain a hand with value 21 or that most closely approximates to it without going over.

Players make their bets on the table, usually free except for a ceiling which may be imposed by the casino. At this point, the dealer deals every player two cards face up to himself a blanket and a discovery: in this way, players can learn the values ​​of their hands except the dealer’s.

Now, based on the value of the hand, each player can choose to receive additional cards or stop:


In the first case the dealer will deliver a paper at a time covered, and as the player chooses whether to stop (“stand“) or continue to draw cards (“card” – “hit”);

in the second case, the player will say to want to stop ( “stand”).

This procedure is repeated for all the players until all have decided to stay. Once this phase of the game will have found all the cards and made the money: of course win the hand if you have a score equal to or closest to 21 without going over. The series after the card counting will therefore be:

total of the hand with two cards = 21 ‘because the player wins the hand for Blackjack (provided on the table that nobody else has done the same);

hand total more than two cards = 21 “the player wins the hand if nobody has done Blackjack;

hand total more than 21 “the player has” busted “-” busted “and then lost;

hand total less than 21 “if the value is greater than all the other hands, the player wins, or loses or draws.

What has been written so far is also valid for the dealer separately for these two restrictions:

if it holds a total of less than or equal to 16 must necessarily receive another card;

if it holds a total greater than or equal to 17 must necessarily be.

Completed then the counts, the dealer will collect losing bets on of hands, distribute winnings and freeze for the next round of betting players who tied.

Blackjack Rules

These are broadly the rules of Blackjack played in a European casino (best-known version of the game), there are still some options that each player can take:

doubling of the bet, ie if the player has, with the first two cards, a value between 9 and 11, may choose to double the bet made at the beginning of consignment provided that only receive over a third card;

split, applicable only if the player receives two cards of the same value at the beginning of game, this option is to separate the two cards and double down on the second. This option may vary according to the casino;

insurance: This option can be adopted by the players if the dealer gets an Ace as first card, thus having potential to reach the Blackjack, the player may then resort to an insurance policy that consists in half of the wager: in this way, if the dealer will have Blackjack, the player will lose the hand but will redeem half of the insurance made (2:1), however the amount of the insurance or lose it.
